Awards and Achievements
Well all I can say is thank you God, to Him all the glory and honour. We won best Wedding Photographer in the Africa Photographic Awards 2010. Thanks to the team. Danie & Daleen and Edna for letting Danie work with me every weekend. We are honoured and privileged to be selected.
I was told by one of the judges that all three portfolios I entered into the awards made it into the top 5. We only entered the Best Wedding photographer category.

J & D have been invited to be part of a new association of photographers. This group is invitation only and we were selected from a highly selective list of over 5000 wedding photographers around the world. The selection and invitation was sent to 350 photographers from around the planet. The panel of photographers on the Review board included some of the best in the world, David Beckstead, Ben Chrisman, Del Sol Photography (Matt Adcock and Sol Tamargo), Glen Johnson, Anna Kuperberg, Crash Taylor, and David Ziser.
We are so honoured and humbled to be included in this list of talented photographers from around the world. J & D is the only studio from South Africa that has been invited ……. makes you think does it not …….

J & D has received some accolades in the last two months. We won the Silver VOW Award for Photography in Gauteng. This award has nothing to do with the quality of your images but is more about what your clients feel about you and how they experience you on the day. We received a lot of “Star of the day” awards from our clients from the last year. It also says something about the value for money your product offers.
At this point I am not sure if I trust the value of this award as it was the first year it ran and it had a lot of negativity around the organisers SABIA. Also the way the scoring works does not take into account your experience. Lets see what happens in the future around SABIA.
Then the 2009 Fuji Photography Awards were announced last week. J & D took 50% of the awards in the wedding section. We took the only Gold award, one Silver and 2 Bronze. We took 4 awards out of the 8 awarded. I dedicate the awards to my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ who gives me the talent to do what I do from day to day. I love my job.

Rangefinder magazine is one of the top international photographic magazines. It has been a goal of mine to get just one of my images published in the magazine. Having one of your images published in Rangefinder is like winning an Oscar for best actor. I am over the moon with the fact that they did a complete profile on me. As far as I know I am the second South African photographer to get published in the magazine.

J & D Photography is the first South African studio to be invited to form part of ISPWP

As stated on the ISPWP web site.
“Quite simply, the best wedding photographers in the world
The International Society of Professional Wedding Photographers is a rarity among online wedding photography directories. We’re small. We’re exclusive. We’re picky. We are a worldwide group of top professional wedding photographers who have the experience, talent, and reputation to deliver outstanding wedding photography to our clients.”
This confirms that J & D is on international standard and can be compared with the best in the world.
